The Center uses its best efforts to respect and protect the privacy of our online visitors and donors. We will not share your personal information with any third parties unles you allow us to do so by using optional services such as online social networking profiles within out site. This includes name, address, financial information, and email address and member identification and profile images.

DATA COLLECTION & PERSONAL INFORMATION 

We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. If you make a donation, register for an event or register for our newsletter, for example, we may collect your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information.

If you provide personal information, we may enter that information into our constituent database and contact you in order to:

   Complete voluntary surveys seeking feedback for quality and service improvement purposes

   Supply you with information, including Center news, events and services

   Request voluntary time or monetary contributions to the Center

If you provide personal information such as name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, photos, or other information for the use of online profiles or social networks within our site, that information may be available for viewing by other members of such service and to outside viewers and may be made available by outside search engines. Use of information by outside search engines are outside our control. If you do not want information use on our profiles to be made available to other individuals, you should not upload such information. If you request to have an online profile removed or deleted, information uploaded for use in such profile may still reside on networked computers used for our site, but will no longer be displayed and made available for others to view. Information acquired by outside search engines may still be available after profiles are deleted or removed as they are outside of our control. If you use link other social networks such as Facebook to our own social network, your profile or other information contained within that social network may be made available on our own social network and vice versa.

We use high-grade encryption and security protocols (Secure Socket Layer-SSL) when processing financial transactions. This method is the industry standard security protocol, which makes it difficult for anyone to intercept the information you send us. Inside the Center, data is stored on password-protected servers. Our staff is educated about the importance of safeguarding your information. However, such precautions do not guarantee that our web site is invulnerable to all security breaks. The Center makes no warranty, guarantee or representation that the use of our web site is protected from viruses, security threats or other vulnerabilities and that your information will always be secure.

STANDARD WEB SERVER TRAFFIC PATTERN INFORMATION

General traffic, site usage and length of stay information is collected. This type of information is used to help the Center improve the functionality of our web site and such information is not link to individual visitors.

EXTERNAL LINKS

Our Privacy Statement applies only to your use of the Center web site. This site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. Links to other sites do not imply an endorsement of the material or policies of those web sites. You should read the privacy policies of each site you visit to determine what information they may be collecting from you.

USER SUBMITTED CONTENT

Any information you submit to the site may be available to other users of the site or to the general public including outside of the site.  Search engines may also collect information that you submit to the site.  If you do not wish to share information with others you should delete it or not submit it to begin with.  You understand that photos you submit to the website may be used in print or online material without royalty or credit owed to you.  Submissions become property of The Center for Human Rights, Inc. and will not be returned.  You may request to delete your account at any time by contacting us through the "contact us" link with such request.  You understand that even after deleting your account your information may still be held in backup copies for 90 days but will not be available to others.  Requests to delete accounts will not remove photos submitted to our "gallery" section, but will remove any photos submitted to your profile page.
